Black Eyeshadow Look!

Over the weekend I created another smokey eye look for a party I went to using just one eyeshadow colour, black! You can create a smokey eye with any colour you like, even with just one colour how I did it. They key to making it look flawless is to make sure you smudge the eyeshadow or pigment really well so that there are no harsh edges around your eyes, or else it won't look so good. Also, whether you're using a black eyeshadow or a coloured one, it is always good to line your eyes with a black, grey or brown eyeliner in order to frame the eyes and make the look appear more polished and clean.

Dark eyes, like the ones I created can wash out the rest of your face, especially if you have a lighter skin tone than mine. I like to use a bit of bronzer to bring colour to my face and a light wash of blush. Peachy blushes will look nicer on olive and yellow-based skin tones, where a more pink blush will look nicer on paler skin tones. For the lips, I like to use a light nude-pink colour, since there is a lot going on in the eyes you don't want too much attention on the lips.

Products I used for this look:

For the eyes I used Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencil in the colour Perversion (a really dark black), and I used a fluffy eyeshadow brush to smudge it all over my eyelids. On top of that I used MAC eyeshadow in Black Tied over the black base and more emphasized around my lashline. Make sure to blend the eyeshadow really well. In my waterline, I used the Urban Decay eyeliner pencil to make my eyes look even smokier. (You can use a white or peachy pencil in the waterline to make your eyes look bigger!) I finished the look with two coats of L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara.
