I recently did makeup for my friend on her first photo shoot! I tried to keep the look fairly simple by emphasizing her eyes and keeping the rest of her makeup (face and lips) neutral.
I smoked out her eyes with brown eyeshadows from Urban Decay's Smoked Palette and back eyeliner (Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion) to make her gorgeous green eyes pop. She is wearing MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW30 and MAC Studio Fix concealer in NW25. On her cheeks I added a bit of MAC's Harmony blush for a bit of contouring, as well as Benefit Hoola Bronzer. For some glow to her cheeks I used NARS ograsm blush. To keep the lips nude, I used MAC Honey Love lipstick with a light pink Stila lipgloss.
I finally got the edited pictures from the photographer so here they are!! Enjoy :)

Black Eyeshadow Look!
Over the weekend I created another smokey eye look for a party I went to using just one eyeshadow colour, black! You can create a smokey eye with any colour you like, even with just one colour how I did it. They key to making it look flawless is to make sure you smudge the eyeshadow or pigment really well so that there are no harsh edges around your eyes, or else it won't look so good. Also, whether you're using a black eyeshadow or a coloured one, it is always good to line your eyes with a black, grey or brown eyeliner in order to frame the eyes and make the look appear more polished and clean.
Dark eyes, like the ones I created can wash out the rest of your face, especially if you have a lighter skin tone than mine. I like to use a bit of bronzer to bring colour to my face and a light wash of blush. Peachy blushes will look nicer on olive and yellow-based skin tones, where a more pink blush will look nicer on paler skin tones. For the lips, I like to use a light nude-pink colour, since there is a lot going on in the eyes you don't want too much attention on the lips.
Products I used for this look:
For the eyes I used Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencil in the colour Perversion (a really dark black), and I used a fluffy eyeshadow brush to smudge it all over my eyelids. On top of that I used MAC eyeshadow in Black Tied over the black base and more emphasized around my lashline. Make sure to blend the eyeshadow really well. In my waterline, I used the Urban Decay eyeliner pencil to make my eyes look even smokier. (You can use a white or peachy pencil in the waterline to make your eyes look bigger!) I finished the look with two coats of L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara.

Cat Eyes & Bold Lips!
Today I did some experimental makeup on my beautiful friend Casandra. I decided to do a bold black eyeliner using MAC fluidline gel liner and a bold purple lip. Hope you like it!

My Makeup Desk Setup
These are a couple of pictures of my current setup where I apply my makeup and store my collection!
The desk isn't very big but it gets the job done and is working out great for now. Eventually I do want to expand my collection more and purchase a larger desk. The colourful drawers to the right of the pictures are great because they can hold a LOT of products, I keep most of my makeup in them, as well as some skin care products, brush rolls and random cosmetic samples. I got it from Ikea and it is really handy because it has wheels at the bottom so it can move around easily. A lot of the products i wear on a daily basis I keep on top of my desk so that I can easily access them.
I use a mini mirror that i received as a gift to apply my makeup and it has adjustable lighting as well as a magnifying mirror. The larger mirror and round lights I bought at Home Depot.
The three pictures on my wall I purchased at Home Sense.

Demi Lovato Inspired Makeup
This is a look I created that was inspired by Demi Lovato and her intense cat eye liner. I didn’t make my eye make up as intense as she did but I tried to follow the same outline. She almost always wears a bold cat eyeliner look!
This is the picture I found of her that I used as my inspiration.

Smokey Eye Makeup
This is a standard, smokey eye look I created on myself. This is one of my favourite looks to wear and one that I usually wear on a regular basis.
